For almost a quarter of a century, we at KC’s have strived to ensure that you and your patrons receive the best possible entertainment available and that your audience leaves excited and happy with our performance.
We are proud of our achievements over the years and have a significant history to backup our Sunshine Coast based Company. Originally founded in 1987 at Yandina by Clive Featherby. Clive original history was that of a Speedway Promoter at the Brisbane RNA Showgrounds, he was also the Australia’s youngest ever Promoter starting his career at Redcliffe Showgrounds at 20 years of age.
By 1994, KC’s was one of the nation’s Biggest display companies and still to this day holds the record for the largest display ever conducted in a Stadium.
Clive was contracted by the Brisbane Broncos to conduct the fireworks for the World Club Challenge V. Wigan at the then ANZ Stadium. The Display lasted just 2 minutes for a staggering $58,000. The finale alone saw 700 aerial shells explode from both ends of the football field in just 4 seconds, whilst fireworks exploded from both rooftops and six other locations. The following year, KC’s designed, produced and patented the World’s first ever waterproof fireworks fuse, namely “Sticky Match”, at their own Fireworks Factory in Helidon. This was Queensland’s first ever Fireworks Facility, and by 1989, KC’s were manufacturing and supplying fireworks in 20 foot containers to San Diego’s “Sea World”.
The records for the company continued in the year 2000. Millennium celebration’s by KC’s conducted 107 major fireworks displays on that one night in seven different countries. By now KC’s were supplying fireworks to South Bank for the Australia Day Lord Mayor’s Celebrations and over 400 displays across Australia each year.
That same year, KC’s represented Australia in Macau in the Asian World Pyrotechnic Finals. Clive has now begun organising many Festivals including the very successful Gatton Festival of Fire and went on to win a Tourism award and also KC’s were presented with the Sunshine Coast Excellence in Business Award.
In 2001 , KC’s branched out into Waterscreens and developed the world’s fist ever fully mobile, land based Waterscreen and were first in the Southern Hemisphere to use a waterscreen in public at the Broncos ANZ Stadium. KC’s conducted The Broncos fireworks for five years. KC’s changed hands briefly in 2002, before returning to Clive’s ownership in 2003. They grew in leaps and bounds, purchasing numerous Monster Trucks, over $100,000 in the latest fireworks remote computer firing technology, Jet Quads, LED big Screen and basically anything to do with Family or Corporate entertainment.
